Double Digits
Dominic
You are 10 years old. TEN YEARS OLD! How on earth is that even possible? Weren't you just born?
This year you had 2 parties (as you do every year). One with family, one with friends as always. Then we had a family movie night and you picked going to Ichiban for your birthday dinner. Ichiban was not open when we went so we decided on Saga instead. You LOVED it! The chef was throwing broccoli into our mouths, squirting saki in Dad's mouth and let you use the peeing boy to put out a fire!
You are 4foot 10 inches tall. You weight 77 pounds. Tall and skinny. You are letting your hair grow out and the eyes you have will melt girls hearts someday. You will not wear anything but jeans! (wind pants and sweats are a thing of the past) You are handsome.
Smarter than is good for you. Possibly never thinking that you are ever wrong is not the way to be....but you will learn that with time my son. You get straight A's but still tend to be chatty in school. You are very good at drawing and love to ride bikes. (someday you can get a dirt bike but with you breaking your elbow in the fall, now is just not the time) This is your last year in the little kid schools. Next year you are off to the Centennial School. GAH
You love love love video games. You spent all of your Toys R Us gift cards on them. You play your 3DS and DSI XL all the time. It is really about the only time you are quiet ;)
You are so so sweet when you want to be. The Mommy love is pretty much behind you but I do get an occasional hug and kiss. Family movie nights are about the best thing for our crazy family of five. You like sitting on the living room floor with big pillows, eating popcorn and candy, watching anything with all of us.
I know before long, you will be driving. And then graduating. And then going to college. And then getting married and having your own kids. Someone should probably start holding my hand now because this Mama is not ready for all of that. Keep on being a kid. A small kid. One that does not have a teenage attitude and talk back. You know, like you were when you were 2.
We love you so so much. You are growing into a pretty cool young man.

Satruday's Top Five Laughs
It has been a busy busy 2 weeks. I have so many blog posts to write BUT I need the time to edit pictures and make the posts. This weekend is full of birthday fun for Dominic, so I hope to get them done soonish!
I did not post last Saturday because Dom had his friend party. Here are the best of the last 2 weeks!
5. Dominic turned TEN yesterday. A decade. He was on the phone with our friend and he said "yep, I am 10. I feel OLD!" Ha, kid wait till you're in your thirties, ahem.
4. Charlie started saying "uh oh" about a week and a half ago. She throws her bottle, looks down at it and says "uh oh" and then cries until you give it back to her. It was funny and adorable the first 3 times...now, not so much! ;) She also says "uh oh" when her foot slips while she is walking from furniture pieces!
3. Logan has some puppy stuffed animals. He has taken a real liking to the one his Pappy got him. He was making it kiss him and tickle him. "mwah mwah mwah. (giggling) Ah puppy kissin me. Ticka ticka ticka. (giggling) Ah puppy ticka me."
2. Charlie is a kisser and a lover! Stef and Grant were here for dinner and Charlie gave Lily a few big smooches on the top of her head. She has that adorable fuzzy hair and Charlie made it stand up like a Mohawk with her sloppy kiss. Then my best friend was here this week with her son Bradley. Charlie was smooching all over him too. Big kisses for everyone!
1. Dominic was scratching off the silver coating on one of his 3DS gift cards. He came running out of his room with his bottom lip out. Here he had rubbed the code right off. I could not help but laugh a bit! *I am hoping to take it back because the entire paper part came off!*
I hope everyone has a great weekend! I am off to clean and set up for our family party :)

Living Room Redo
I had been tweeting about wanting new living room furniture for Christmas. Much to my surprise, Gary was all for it! So we asked my Mom just for money for Christmas and other family members always give it. So we did some research and picked an awesome chocolate leather set!
After picking the furniture, we decided that new rugs were in order and a table. We choose those and decided on a complete color scheme for the room. Chocolate, Burgundy and Teal with splashes of green, yellow and cream.
We were so excited to go shopping for all of the room accessories. We went to several stores and were pretty bummed on the first go around because we found zero items. The following weekend, we went out again and found so much wonderful stuff! We got most of our items from TJ Maxx, Tuesday Mornings, JcPenneys, Kohls and Home Goods.
I made an O for our last name to go on our picture wall. (I will also be making some new wreaths for the front door) We had a blanket that coordinated with our new scheme and kept that as well.
We got rid of our side tables, coffee table and sofa table last year when Logan started walking. Slate tiles that come out plus metal sharp corner is not kid friendly! Currently, we decided to keep the furniture at a minimum with Charlie soon to be walking. Instead, we use their new table and chairs as a coffee table. Kid friendly describes our living room. There are toys...um...everywhere. But I would not change that at all!
This is what our living room looked like when we took a tour of the house
This is what it looked like when we had our old furniture when we moved in
This is what it currently looks like
Now we are not completely finished. Our curtains were not the right size. (um measure first, order second...ahem) We are also sanding and re-staining the floor. And removing the tile that is under the fire place. After all that, we are going to paint the fire place cream and remove the gold metal crap. Then I can say we are done. But since that will take F-O-R-E-V-E-R, I decided to post what we have now!
