Love Day and tidbits

hThis year I decided to do something different on Valentine's Day.  Gary and I always hang out at home...no way we are going to try to go to dinner out on a day like that.  However, this year I did not want my Mom to be alone.  So I figured, hey, why don't we have our parents and siblings over for dinner.  I'll make something easy like lasagna, salad, garlic bread and brownies! And that my friends, is exactly what we did.  I pre-made the lasagna and brownies the night before.  Ahem, broken toe and supposed to be off my feet per my OB.  I cut the brownies in heart shapes per the norm.  Everyone had a good time so the night was a success.

Our date night is coming up this Saturday and we have decided on good Italian food as take out and a movie in :)  Yes, we know how to party! And no we are not the romantic type of couple at all...we are totally down to earth and real.  When we first started dating, Gary would buy me a rose every weekend.  It was sweet and thoughtful and he does buy me flowers for no reason still...we just are not the kissy romantic types.  GAH, gag me if we were!

Onto some the of the cute that is my boys ;)
Dominic made me the best card this year.  He used the sides of his hands to make a painted heart.  On the card it says "You stole my Heart!" He will melt some girls heart someday....but for now he has to keep melting mine!
Logan has been talking more and more: Row, Row Row when he wants you to sing Row, Row, Row your boat.  Happy Birdah (happy birthday). Brudda (brother). He calls Bewa (Bella, my Moms Yorkie) when he is eating because he likes to feed her from his highchair, lol.   He grabs his diaper and says pee-pee and I think he saying it when he is going....he also is grabbing his diapers when he wants changed.  I think more potty training is in our future!
Dominic got all good reports on his report card...I mean nothing that says "Dominic is too chatty, Dominic wiggles in his seat, Dominic needs to pay attention." NONE...I am in shock! He received lots of praise for that :) All the reports were "Dominic pays attention, Dominic uses time wisely, Dominic finishes his work, Dominic participates in class." A Mothers dream come true.

I hope you and yours had a wonderful love day...even if high on romance is your thing ;)

Christmas Craziness

I love Christmas but it is 2 days of running around like chickens with our heads cut off!  The kids have a great time but are so cranky by the end of day 2!

Christmas eve we always spend at my Dads side of the family.  Aunt Paulma holds the festivities which include a visit from Santa and a late dinner.  We usually get home around 12:30 am from our get together and then the magic has to happen in our home!  The boys looked adorable in their matching sweaters, which I know will be the last year for it (since a certain almost 9 year old thinks Mom is totally lame for doing it)!

Upon the crashing in bed of the little boys then Santa visits our house, while Mom and Dad watch 'A Christmas Story'.  He adds presents to the ones out from us.

Explanations had to be given to Dominic since he thought Logan received more gifts.  We had to explain that Mom, Dad and Santa have a budget and his gifts cost more and are smaller since they are electronics and legos.  After he thought about it, he understood.  Crisis averted, phew!

After opening gifts here at our house, we head to my Moms for breakfast and our gift exchanges with her and my siblings.  The kids are in a crazy gift opening mood at this point...okay, well Dominic is!  Logan did not really get the gift unwrapping thing...next year I am sure will be different.

After gifts with my Mom, Sam and Dawn....we head to Jim's to exchange gifts with him, Matt, Tina and Noel.  Dom and Noel rip through their gifts in no time flat.  We only stay there for about an hour as we have to get back to my Moms and Jim always joins us.

Upon getting back to my Moms, we eat a yummy dinner.  We have yet another gift exchange with her side of the family.  We enjoyed many memories of Ethan's first Christmas, Bella's first Christmas and of course Jingle opening her own gifts!  What a sight to see, a dog who opens gifts :)

Before dessert we have to head out of my Moms and over to Gary's Granddads for another gift exchange.  We arrived right before they ate, so it gave us a few precious moments of quiet and relaxing on the couch.  This pregnant Mama was very thankful for that!  The kids received so many more wonderful things but quickly got to the crabby stage.  Poor Logan hit his head off of the corner of the door when someone let him down....he immediately took off. Stinker!

All in all it was a wonderful Christmas. Next year will be even more wonderful with a little girl crawling around in all the chaos!

Kids Korner

Logan has started to match his colors!  If he has an orange ball and you ask him to get another orange ball, he will hold up other balls to the orange one until the colors match.  Then he put them both up in the air...like YEAH I DID IT!  Too smart...I think we are in trouble!

Dom is having a hard time with this older kid that he sits with on the bus.  So on Tuesday, he got really mad when the kid was picking on Dominic and Dom said "Hey listen my life is hard enough without you picking on me...my Mom is pregnant, I have to watch my baby brother 24/7 and I cant handle your extra stress!" I really tried not to laugh and advised him that he does not watch his brother 24/7 to which his answer was "yes I do, your always getting sick in the bathroom." Well okay then....he has part of that right!
----------
Logan has his eye out for cell phones all the time.  Some times when he comes up to give you a hug, he does it real quick and grabs your phone (that is sitting right next to you) and then takes off laughing along the way.  STINKER

Dominic can be the most adorable and kind boy.  So many days of me being sick makes him worry.  He went to the nurse this week and said that he needed to lay down.  He has a belly ache from worrying about his Mom.  The nurse called me to make sure everything was okay and I had explained being pregnant and having all day morning sickness.  Then when he is at home, he kisses my forehead and tells me to get better.
