We can't wait for June

Bonus points to anyone who can name the song that the title was from!

We headed to Ocean City / Atlantic City New Jersey this past week. We decided on 3 days at the beach and hitting The Crayola Factory on the 4th day as we headed home. Last year 5 days at the beach and a day in D.C. was too much for our little ones.

I woke up after only 3 hours of sleep Monday morning at 1 am. Gary and I had already packed the car so I jumped in the shower and woke him up. We picked up the kids and off we went. Surprisingly Dom had fallen asleep within 15 minutes but the tots, had stayed awake for over an hour. They slept off and on the entire 8 hour trip. Aside from Charlie getting car sick, it wasn't too bad of a ride. (we ended up buying motion sickness meds for both of the little ones, they both got sick in the car this trip and it helped!)

We arrived in Jersey a little after 10 am. We drove around looking at the houses, the shops and picked up Fractured Prune doughnuts. We checked into our hotel at noon, unpacked the car and headed for the Atlantic City beaches. We picked up Tony Baloney's pizza on the way.

The next day we spent on the boardwalk and at the amusement park. It was HOT! The kids enjoyed some rides and some mini golf. (we actually on did 3 holes at golf because, well, Charlie is only 2)

The final day in Ocean City was spent at the beach. It was a great day. Relaxing. The kids had a great time running around the beach. Digging holes. Splashing and jumping waves.

Then we spent the evening taking the kids pictures on the beach. We even managed to get a good shot of all 5 of us, even though Gary and I had no intention of being photographed. A nice lady offered and I jumped at the chance! (I am almost always behind the camera, but Dom is starting to like taking pictures you may see more of me, ha)

We had a great time. The kids LOVE LOVE LOVE the beach and are already asking when we can go back. Logan had a mini melt down when we couldn't ride the Ferris wheel so we are going to Idlewild in a few weeks. Plus the kids have their first concert in a couple weeks too!

Saturday Top Five Laughs

Happy to be linking up to one of my favorite blog hops, Saturday Top Five Laughs with Melissa!

dentistmelsbbutton 12 Saturdays Top Five Laughs Come Join Our Blog Hop!

5. While we were gone, Libby missed us so much. She is such a social dog. She would only eat her dog food when my Mom and brother hand fed her. When we got home, she hugged us like a human and cried out. I guess no more beach vacations without her!

4. Charlie is growing up too fast. She pretty much potty trained herself. She started going on her own at 20 months and now at 26 months, she wears undies all the time. (We are on the fence about doing it at night even though she is dry every single morning) Every time she goes: "I pee/poop. HIGH FIVE! I a big grill."

3. Dominic got an MMR booster shot right before we left for the beach, he had an allergic reaction to it. Small red dots showed up all over his body, then small hives. He even woke up the second morning and his ears and face were swollen. "Look Mom, when I push on my cheeks, my eyes go away."

2. While in completely stopped Philly traffic,  Charlie had to go potty. We had Dominic unbuckle and put her into a pullup while she was still in her car seat. There was no where to pull off, we were in 5 lanes of cars. She cried out: "No fank you pull up, I pee in toy-lite!"

1. Logan met a little girl named Ava at the beach. He went over and started playing with her and her Dad digging in the sand. Soon enough they were going into the ocean together, holding hands on the way! Logan said: "I like Ava, She is FANCY!"

Hope everyone is enjoying their summer and laughing!

Keeping all balls in the air

Well I survived the transition into our new normal! Having Gary not here as much has definitely taken a toll on all of us. His business trip seemed to last forever and the kids constantly asked for him. I tried to keep them distracted as much as possible. We had a couple offers from family for dinners out or cooked by them and one friend offered to come keep us company. It was nice to have them cheer me up and keep my kidlets busy. It made the time go faster. The other trainings had him working late and switching everything around for it. I am happy that we are passed it!

Slowly I am going to try to get my groove back with blogging. It has been several weeks and I have not kept up with reading anything, so I apologize for that. I just needed to keep up with doing everything on my own. There were not many days that were under 16 hours with no free time.

I am TRYING to keep all the balls in the air, well the necessary ones that is.

The Bathroom:
We tried SO HARD to have it finished before Gary left for Kansas. However, a broken marble tile derailed all of our efforts. Seriously, I was devastated. We spent over a week staying up until after midnight working on it, getting only 4 hours of sleep a night. We are on vacation next week but have plans to get more and more done next weekend!

Summer Vacation:
It is in full swing in this house. Dominic is enjoying his time out of school. That boy loves to sleep in!
We went to NYC this past weekend (Dom's birthday present) and we all had a blast!
We leave for the beach during the night in 2 days! (spoiler alert: I have a house/dog sitter, ahem) The kids are looking forward to playing in the sand and swimming in the pool. I am too. No work and all play is fabulous.
I am continuing to jog in the evening and have started to bring Dom with me. It is wonderful to get out into the quiet!
We went on a play date at Amy's and met up with Jen at the park.
Playing outside, going for family walks and bike rides has the kids down right exhausted at night. It is awesome, ha!

Gary and I celebrated 5 years of marriage. (in Sept it will be 15 years since our first date, OMG) We decided to get tattoos of our wedding date on our ring fingers while in NYC. They are awesome and it is my first tattoo. It, um, hurt a lot on the sides of my finger but the top was fine. Was a great bonding experience for us and a wonderful story to tell our future grand kids!

Well, I really have very few shreds of it left. However, I am still swimming. This year has shown me a lot. I have learned what to cut loose and what to keep close. I am still working on shutting off my mind and hoping that my anxiety continues to go in the right direction. (kids man, they change everything)

Hope everyone had a great rest of their spring and Happy first day of summer!!
