Mother's Day 2014

Mother's Day. A day all about Mom. The person who brought you into the world or who accepted you into their world to love and cherish you. To protect you, care for you and teach you.

I had a good day! Dominic stayed over at a neighbor's house and promptly came home at 7 am. Gary got up, let him in and they started breakfast. Everyone woke me up at 8:30 for a yummy home made breakfast of eggs, sausage gravy, biscuits and fruit salad. They set up my place with coffee, orange juice and even a flower. It was sweet and wonderful and thoughtful.

I am not a person who likes to have cards bought for me. In reality, I think they are a waste of money! I love home made. Dominic and the kids made me a beautiful card. Gary ordered me a new jewelry box that he then customized to match our bedroom. He is pretty awesome.

After breakfast, we relaxed on the couch. Cleaned up the house, did laundry, dishes, etc and I went shopping. My mom, brother and sister came over to cook out and celebrate Mother's day for our Mom. She is the best Mom, EVER! She is amazing, always has been and always will be! Our gift to her was a new purse, a gift card to Paint Monkey to paint your pet and some drinks, glasses and a matching tray.

Gary grilled dinner while I made the sides. We ate dinner, dessert, talked, the kids played outside in the warm weather. My brother gave me flowers and chocolate covered pretzels. It was pure perfection. I felt the love. I hope my Mom did as well. My family is close, it is the way we were raised and the way we are raising our children. They love their Nana, Aunt Dawn/Uncle Tony and Uncle Sam.

Gary's Mom had to work this weekend so we will celebrate with her this week.

I hope everyone enjoyed their day as much as I did. Being a Mom is the hardest and most rewarding job. I am blessed to be able to be a mother of 3 beautiful kids.
